Commodore PC-I / PC-1 Restoration Kit

Regular price $7.90 $0.00 Unit price per

Restoration kit containing replacement capacitors, a speaker/beeper, reset switch, etc.

The PC-I was Commodore's smallest IBM PC clone, featuring a 8088 processor and 512 kB of RAM.

Restore your vintage Commodore PC-I with this kit and let it live for many years still. Replacing capacitors is always recommended when restoring vintage computers, since they are rarely intended to still be used several decades after they were produced. This kit comes with brand new high quality Panasonic capacitors of the correct values for this specific computer. The kit also includes a wired PC Speaker / Beeper which the computer was curiously missing from the factory, but still has a connector on the main board for. Some people will also miss a reset switch on the computer, but that too is included here for you to optionally install. Lastly, the kit comes with some new rubber feet for replacing the old ones that might have gone hard or even missing through the years.

Contents

  • 8 pcs Panasonic High Quality Capacitors, fit for the PC-I
  • 1 pc PC speaker / Beeper with wire and connector + two-sided adhesive tape
  • 1 pc System Reset Switch with wire and connector
  • 4 pcs Rubber Feet for case
  • 1 sheet of Install Instructions

Some basic soldering skills are required for replacing the capacitors. All parts are optional, so you can e.g. install the PC Speaker and omit the Reset Switch if you like, or any other combination. That being said, replacing all capacitors is generally encouraged on all vintage computers, even if they still seem to work.
